Requirements

To volunteer with us at our program for children with special needs, we apply a few extra requirements in order to ensure the quality of the program and protect our children.

Please note that there is a special application form to apply for this program.

Profile volunteers:

Enthusiastic, dedicated and creative volunteers are very important to VP Bali and this school. Without our volunteers, their time and their talents, we simply would not be able to run the program that makes such a difference in the lives of children and teenagers with special needs.

Volunteers work in our school for children with special needs under the supervision of VP Bali staff and in close cooperation with the local teachers. Volunteers may provide one-on-one assistance to the children or teenagers, keeping activities going, supporting our local teachers and having fun! Creativity is very important for all VP Bali’s programs and especially for this school. Volunteers are strongly motivated to implement their own background, skills and talents into the program. Creative learning is the key in all our programs and especially in this program, it is important to work with each child individually on their personal goals.

We invite volunteers that have a therapeutic background and are able to give therapy to children who need this (physical therapy, speech therapy). We are also very happy with volunteers that want to share their knowledge with our local teachers through workshops and training.

Related background is required and application has to include an updated CV, motivation letter and criminal record check. A Skype interview may be requested by VP Bali.

The minimum duration of the placement is 3 months and maximum 6 months.

Profile interns:

VP Bali is always seeking for young enthusiastic students who want to help VP Bali to develop in skills and knowledge.

Depending on the targets of the school, we are looking for interns with the following educational background:

- Occupational therapy

- Physical therapy

- Speech therapy

- Social work / pedagogy

- Sport and recreation

- Nutrition and health

The average duration of an internship is between 10 weeks and 5 months. Depending on the type of internship, we offer different opportunities for foreign students to help VP Bali and it’s staff develop in skills and knowledge. The internship can be research-related or practical, but for all internships the main goal is that by the end of the internship something will be left behind for VP Bali to use and to be beneficial for the school. This can be a tool, a manual for therapy, workshops, handbooks, advise plans etc.
