As i first came here, i didnt know anything about teaching or how to handle kids. However, vpbali made it very easy and smooth thanks to the staff. They were always supportive and there whenever we needed something. I had a very good connection with the students. They are so adorable and loving and most of all they appreciate the small things you do. What made it easy was that there was a curriculum that you can follow. A very simple one depending on the class level and this is very beneficial for first timers such as me. I loved the overall experience and i will definetly do it all over again.Reem, from Lebanon
My time at VP Bali has been such a lovely experience as I have met such a range of people which i hope to stay in contact with. The children who attend VP Bali are a delight to teach and everyday bring a smile to my face. Their passion and dedication to learn english amazes me as I have never met children so willing to improve.
VP Bali on a whole is a great charity and has great intentions for m the future of these children who attend daily out of their own will.Flo, from the UK
First off, Bali is an absolutely amazing place. The homestay is located in central Ubud, you are able to experience the full thrill of the city. Wayan and his family are extremely nice and hospitable at the homestay. They are always willing to drive you and a group of people to any destination you are curious about. The homestay has a beautiful courtyard, and it makes interacting with the other volunteers easy because everyone is located in the same place.Natalie, from the USA
I stayed here 2 weeks. It has been an intense experience that made me get in contact with the local culture and youth in a way that would have not been possible by traveling on my own. Kids are amazing and they enrich your days, from the moment you arrive at school and hear your name shouted to the excitement of stickers time (end of the lessons). I recommend this experience to any traveler or curious individual who wants to discover not only an amazing country but a lively and dynamic population. Honesty is perfect as it is located in the center of Ubud and offers tours all around Bali. Other volunteers and program coordinators help you and support you through the whole journey and you feel safe at all times. I can’t wait to come back, this time for longer! A presto!Luca, from Italy
My experience with vp Bali has been a good one. This has been my first time out of Europe and Bali has been a good place to start, the home stay owners have been really helpful and would do anything for you. I felt safe staying at the home stays and going to school. The children are really enthusiastic and always ask after volunteers. It is easy to communicate with the children as there are local staff that speak Balinese and English, so they can translate to the children.Annabelle, from the UK
It is incredibly rewarding getting to know the children and seeing their reaction when you turn up to school. They are always so happy at the programme and seem to be having a great time. For them this programme is an enjoyable way to learn English. I think that the sociable aspect of the programme contributes to this as all the volunteers get to know each other so and as a result get on so well. When the children see the volunteers getting on well together it sets a great example for them.Lydia, from the UK
Signing up for the program was one of the best decisions I’ve taken. The kids were such an inspiration! Every day I just couldn’t wait to come to school so that I could see the smiles on their faces 🙂 This was true fulfillment and experience that is so empowering. All this along with the wonderful volunteers from all around the world made my stay a life time experience. Thank you, lovely kids and VP Bali Family!
I will miss you and I hope we meet again,Mariya, from Bulgaria
I came with another portuguese friend. We shared a room at the homestay which was really good. The bathroom was really funny because it was just a shower right in the middle of it, but soon we realized that every bathroom on this island is like that.
I loved the people in the program, they were all very nice and welcoming and I think no one feels like the newbie when they arrive. I have stayed for 4 weeks, so obviously I have a lot of stories to tell, but I honestly recommend this program, especially if you like to make new friends!Laura, from Portugal
It was the best experience in my life, i really loved the children, the school, and the local people and staff. I learnt a lot with them. I saw my students’ progresses during classes. I met really nice people here and i will never forget them. They are an essential part of my experience. I would love to repeat this experience as soon as possible. Also, in our homestay we have all the things that we need. Thank you VP Bali. 🙂Rita, from Portugal
This program has helped my ability to understand the difficulties in children being provided sufficient and effective language education. The way the program has helped the communities children not being left behind with their education and their assistance in the community and the assistance that they can give their families is immense, and I feel so grateful to be a part of this program. The structure is great, and the speed that the children learn English from different nationalities is impressive.Stephanie, from Australia
You go to Bali with the idea to give something, to help the local community and teaching English to the Balinese kids. However, when you leave you realize that you have just received from them, especially from the kids. They give you their heart.
Once happened that I was sick and I missed one class. The reaction of the children surprised me. Everyone prepared a piece of paper wishing me to get well soon and everyone, the day after, was so worried about me. I’m really touched by this experience. It’s been amazing. Thank you.Giuliano, from Italy
The children I taught at VP Bali where absolutely incredible. Every child was happy, fun, enthusiastic and ever so loving and caring. I noticed this from the very first day where many of the kids would come up to me and hug me and give me high fives and ask about me and my life. The children are so welcoming and really make you feel welcomed, loved and in the right place. I will never forget these children and their mentalities.Sinta, from Canada
As soon as I arrived, everything was perfect organized from the staff.
They explained with details about our responsibilities and many things about the local area.
The location of our homestay is the best in Ubud with many restaurants and shops around.
The kids are just adorable and they welcome you with a big smile.
Overall it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who want take a break or visit Bali.Giannis, from Greece
My time with VP Bali has been an experience like no other. I booked two weeks with VP Bali and I can honestly say this was not long enough! You get attached to the students, staff and get emersed in the culture. Teaching these children open my eyes to the endless possibilities for them, its was an absoloute pleasure being a part of the VP Bali family and I would recommend this program to anyone looking to make a difference.Tayla, from Australia
It was more than just teaching the basics and writing content on the board, more than just creating activities for all the children to be apart of, but an eye opening experience. I come to class with smiles from the students who not only love to learn but also build a strong teacher-student relationship that reassure me that I am in a safe and comfortable environment. Every volunteer should always feel welcome and that is exactly what VP Bali was able to give me. From the homestay owners to the program staff and local coordinators, I knew I chose the right program. Because of the resources VP Bali offered, there was never a time I questioned my journey to such a diverse island and beautiful culture.Marsha, from the US
I had a very very good time here with vp bali.
I got to know so many nice people from all around the world. I really loved teaching because the students were so lovely. Especially my younger ones were the cutest children I have ever seen and I will miss them.
The stuff of vpbali is very nice and if I had a problem I could always ask them.
I had so much fun and maybe i’ll come back.
Thank you vpbali!!Johanna, from Germany
The children are so inspiring to teach, it makes you so excited to come back every day and continue to help them develop their english and I genuinely believe that the programme will have a lasting impact for the kids. The staff do an amazing job and have such a great relationship with all the students. The staff as well as the local co-ordinaters ensure that the whole programme is run so smoothly and the kids could not be in a better, more positive and helpful envioronment for them to learn! Id recommend the programme to anyone that is up for an inspring and fun experience where you will learn a lot and that is keen to have a true impact on the childrens learning.Chess, from the UK
From the first day it was easy to get into, the kids and the other volunteers are warm and embracing. Despite having had no teaching experience, the programme was welcoming and the children are so grateful for anything it makes it a pleasure to play even the smallest game. The children are so much more loving than I expected and it makes the volunteering that extra bit funner and easier. As for teaching experience, having two classes, each of different ages, allows for two intensities and a wide spectrum of experience. I would 100 percent recommend VP Bali for anyone looking to occupy some time in Bali or to teach.Ethan, from the UK
That was the first time I did volunteer and that was a really good trip. Teaching was a good experience, even more with kids like this, they are really kind. First I thought that would be a difficult trip but at my arrival I totally changed my mind. The homestay is really nice. I discovered the balinese culture, and this is really interesting one. I travelled around Bali, to kuta, seminyak and gili, visiting temples, beaches and waterfalls. I travelled a lot and this is one of the best place I went, and encountered a lot of nice people, in Vp Bali and outside. I recommend this trip, because all of those reasons.Edwin, from France
I spent 4 weeks here and I had a very good time. The program is very well organized and seems efficient, so is the staff. The local coordinators were very helpful and very pleasant.
One the the main thing I appreciated is that we have the same class for the whole volunteering, which makes our work more efficient.
The children are really sweet and eager to learn, they deserve from the volunteers a serious work and a real attention.
This volunteering was a very good experience, and I hope I brought something.Louis, from France
The kids were so geuininly friendly and their smile put a smile on my face. The staff couldn’t be any nicer and are always there for anything we need, wether translating in class or helping us with creative ideas. The students are very enthusiatic and love learning which motivates us teachers even more to come to school with a smile on our faces. This is without doubt a program and a experience that needs to be done at least once in your life time and after you have done it once you will just want to keep on doing and never leave. I would recommend this program as without doubt a great exprience and high level of professionality throughout the whole stay.Jacinta, from Portugal
I had such a lovely time at VP-Bali. I really enjoyed the classes and the teaching. The kids were so sweet and they really wanted to learn. The staff and the people from the school were really helpful. I also had such a good time together with the other volunteers, and I really gonna miss them and the kids. The volunteering was a one in a lifetime experience and I would definitely recommend to everyone to volunteer at VP-Bali!!Noah, from the Netherlands
It has been such a good experience being a volunteer at VP Bali. In school the kids are very willing to learn! I didn’t have any previous experience with teaching but that’s not a problem. By living with a local family you get to know the culture and how it is to live in Bali. They’re so open minded and you can ask about everything and they’ll do their best to answer you. I’ll definitely recommend do it! It’s amazing! Go start your adventure.Cecilia, from Denmark
I have just come to the end of my 6 weeks volunteering with VP bali and loved the whole experience. I would definitely reccommend it if you’re wanting to volunteer abroad, I have done a few different projects abroad, and this was one of my favourites. I felt like I could really get to know the kids and the VP bali team. The kids are so grateful, eager to learn, and always happy to see you. I will miss all the kids and the staff lots, and will definitely be back to Bali again in the future!Alex, from Wales
This was my first time volunteering and I have loved every minute. When we first arrived at the homestay, we were welcomed by the other volunteers who were happy to show us where to eat, drink and shop! From the moment you arrive, the children are so happy to see you, and eager to know everything about their new volunteer. You prepare your lesson in advance so you know what you’re doing in advance and can get straight into teaching. There are loads of supportive materials in the classroom and on the google drive. School is so much fun..Jessica, from the UK
If you are looking for a life chaging experience, VP Bali is for you. From meeting the children, to teaching the children, to meeting new friends and travelling Bali… I have enjoyed every single second. The feeling is unexplainable how this whole journey has made me feel, but I feel I have found so much out about myself, the world around me and met amazing life long friends. This has been THE BEST experience of my life. A trip I will never forget. Thank you VP Bali!Georgia, from the UK
Here I am in a country far far away where everything is so different from back home. The students, staff, culture, and people of Bali have embraced me and opened their arms like I was a family member. It showed me that I was making a impact on these kids and they will never understand the impact they had me. While the kids taught me about their lives in Bali the staff also immersed us into the Balinese way. We were able to learn Balinese dance, and ceremony culture and attend ceremonies for the schools. It was an all encompassing program that not only taught but showed you the Bali way of life.Adrianna, from the USA
During my trip through Southeast Asia I took a couple of weeks to volunteer in Bali with the VP Bali. I had two classes with kids from about 6 to 10 years old. As a English Teacher I can say that there’s nothing in life more fulfilling than seeing a kid enjoying a class and actually learning, this is what happens in VP Bali. Kids come to classes to learn in a fun and dynamic way. It is amazing who they appreciate your help and how they get so closed to you in just a couple of days. All the staff members and volunteers I got the chance to meet and share this experience with were very nice and helpful all the time. Volunteering is definitely the most incredible thing I’ve done so far in my life. If you ever have the chance to volunteer abroad I would totally recommend VP Bali, you will not regret it.Gabriela, from Chile
I had an excellent experience with VP Bali. I was very nervous coming in, as had never been a teach before, never mind an ESL teacher. However, the staff was very helpful in making me feel comfortable and in providing resources. It was helpful having a co-teacher to provide feedback and bounce ideas off of. The accommodations were nice. The host families were so friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed working with the local coordinators to learn about the culture and about how the kids learn. The program definitely benefits the kids and the community as a whole.Shelly, from the USA
The way the English is taught by VP Bali is amazing. The children benefit so much from the English course structure and curriculum set by VP Bali. The children are so eager to learn and love seeing their teachers every day. The children’s motivation is always high due to the fun, learning environment. I am so thankful that I was able to participate in such a fantastic program and cant wait to see the children again some day soon! I really felt that I was able to make a difference and genuinely contribute to the children’s success in the future.Naomi, from Australia
For me it is just totally normal that every child goes to school and gets the education that it needs. But here I just realized that it is not normally and a lot of kids just sell stuff on the street instead of going to school. I’m glad that I’v been could be a little part of Volunteer Bali who just tries to help as good as possible and to change the situation.I really enjoyed to volunteer in this beautiful location- Ubud is just amazing! And I especially enjoyed staying with the other volunteers in a homestay. So in this way I also got to know to the Balinese everyday life which was really interesting for me to see. So for me it was just the perfect connection between travelling and also doing something good for the community. I’m thankful for this experience and just sad that I have to leave.Christina, from Germany
Volunteering with VP Bali is a rewarding, challenging and heart opening experience. The goal is to share your knowledge of English with children who are so eager to learn but instead you will be the one learning. Being fully immersed in local life at the homestay, interacting with the beautiful children and exploring the beauty and culture of an amazing country. I am very grateful for my 10 weeks and the wonderful experience, new friends and great support from the VP Bali time!Deborah, from Canada
I decided to join this volunteering programme when I already started my backpacking. So far it has been the best decision I made during my whole traveling as I experienced my most beautiful time throughout the whole trip during my stay at VPBali. VPBali has been so helpful from the beginning on and so created a wonderful atmosphere. The teaching itself has been absolutely amazing as the kids are so lovely. They are so thankful that you dedicate your time to them and are so willing to learn. For letting the teaching be a lot of fun VPBali offers a lot of helpful material.Kerstin, from Germany
My overall experience was amazing. I first think that the program is really helpful as I could see the improvement with most of the students. The kids are really nice and want to learn a lot. Even the little “trouble makers” are always kind to us and respectful, and they get motivated pretty easily, even if some days are harder than others.
The staff is always present for us and really helpful. I particularly loved the spirit of the program, it’s full of good vibe.Aurore, from France
VP Bali has given me the opportunity to work in a volunteering program for the first time and I can say it was an amazing experience. Although I had worked for five years in Africa, this volunteering experience gave me the opportunity to meet different people, with a different culture and different points of view. For all that, I think I am now a person with a new perspective of the world. I will definitely recommend VP Bali programs.Gonçalo, from Portugal
To be part of VP Bali was one of the best experience I have ever had so far. It was a successful volunteer program that made me realize we are important and count to have a true impact on the construction of those children to become responsible adults. VP Bali is a very well structured organization based on true educational values and, more over, FUN and CREATIVITY!Violette, from France
When you arrive the local staff and vp Bali staff welcome you into their family. I felt really happy and supported during my time here. The children at school are adorable and really eager to learn, they love playing games and it really helped me bond with them. The children were split out into levels while I was there and it was much easier to teach when they were all on one level. I can see their improvement from my time starting and when I finished.Fiona, from the United Kingdom
I was a volunteer at VP Bali for one month and had a very good experience. Almost all volunteers stay together what makes it one big group of friends in a very short moment of time. Teacher the children is done with another co teacher what’s makes it easier and more fun as the kids can be quite busy and enthusiastic. We learned them one topic for four weeks and gave them a test after. After the four weeks they have learned a lot of new body parts and sentencesLisette, from Netherlands
This experience in Bali was amazing, I really enjoyed my time with the kids. It’s something different, that I never did before and at the same time if was something special because I really built a relationship with the kids. The two classes I had were so kind and they were always looking to learn English and have fun at the same time. The classes were always interactive. I think this experience changed my point of view of the relationship with people and it also changed me.Pierre, from France
I decided to come to Bali to volunteer and have loved it. I was able to make connections in the classrroom with the kids and explore in the mornings. I loved being able to immerse myself in the culture through visiting temples and ceremonies. Every morning offers a chance to explore the surroundings such as waterfalls and the market. Overall I am very happy with this experience.Jordan, from the USA
These four months of experience in VP Bali was a good experience for me and everybody was really nice and helpful! This was my first experience of teaching, and the fact that I had the VP Bali staff with me made me feel more comfortable and confident in what I took on. The children are so nice at school and really happy to learn new things everyday! I recommend VP Bali if you want to have an experience abroad in a new culture with a serious team.Maxime, from France
VP Bali is an association with good goals in terms of volunteers. We were well received and the staff were very helpful and always ready to answer our enquiries. The time at the school with the kids was very rewarding because we saw them improve thanks to our actions. We shared good times by teaching english with games. The kids are very dynamic and happy to come to VP Bali classes.
I had a good experience!Noémie, from France
I was welcomed at the Homestay where I got to meet all the other volunteers. Everybody was very nice and kind to me and I immediately felt at home. The social life with the other volunteers was just amazing: we organized morning excursions, dinners, weekends away and, not to forget our dinners and night out on Thursdays.Teaching kids was just the most life changing experience of my life and I recommend it to everybody. VP Bali is a great organisation that gives future opportunities to local kids and gives volunteers an unforgettable experience.Franco, from Italy
I think two months if a really good amount of time to learn how the program works, put in your own effort, make new friends, and make a connection with the students. Although it felt like I was there for a long time, if I had more time to spare, I would have extended my Visa and stayed longer to set new goals and try new lesson plans. This was not your Eat-Pray-Love story, but probably better, because education is so powerful that it can make you find what you may feel is missing in your lifeJane, from the USA
This was my first time volunteering overseas and VP Bali made it a nice and easy experience. I came without much experience, but my co-volunteers were very helpful in helping me adjust to the curriculum. Working for this program also gave me enough free time to explore Bali.
May, from Myanmar
I directly felt at home, moreover the staff were really helpful and efficient. I am so grateful for all the moments we spent together. I discovered a new culture and the kids really wanted to learn and make an effort. It was so sad leaving them. Thank you so much for everything! I’ll miss the VP Bali family.Solene, from France
I’m delighted with my last-minute decision to do a month’s volunteering with VP Bali. The programme itself is brilliant but what stood out in particular for me was the support I received throughout the time there. Weekly group meetings and constant contact with the co-ordinators and fellow volunteers meant that any issues or concerns were addressed and dealt with immediately, and I never felt short of advice and direction when it came to the classes themselves.Geraldine, from Ireland
It has been a great experience for me: not only for the inspiring and peculiar location of Ubud and Bali in general, but specially for the involvement with the local people and the community. On the one hand you teach English, but on the other you help kids and local villages to get scholarships and to adapt to different type of people (and accents) as teachers are from all over the world. You really feel you can make the difference!Ilaria, from Italy
The children are amazing and come to class eager to learn. We teach them in a fun and creative manner which keeps them coming back day after day. I am inspired not only by the children but also by the various volunteers. We are each so different as some of them are students on a gap year to others which are making a career change. I wish that I could have stayed longer than two weeks because I have formed such a strong bond with my students and my new VP Bali family.Megan, from the USA
I was sick for already 2 weeks so I didn’t come to school. So one of my students wanted to come to the homestay to visit me, so sweet! In the end she didn’t come because nobody tought it as a very good plan. But still it was a very sweet plan! VP Bali is like a family. Everyone loves each other and cares for each other. My stay here was one of the best things I ever did in my life. I will be back next year!Sterre, from the Netherlands
I loved this program and everything it has to offer. Everyone was really welcoming and helped in everything I needed. The classes were well organized and it was not that difficult to start on the first day. The children are so cute, they make leaving very difficult. I came with my boyfriend and so I can say it is also good for couples. We did some activities with the group of volunteers that we will never forget. I truly recommend everybody to join VP Bali.Mariana, from Portugal
I have done this program for eight weeks with my friend. Already on the first day it felt like home. The children welcome you as if you knew them already. Not only the teaching is fun, you also have a lot of free time. In this free time you can explore Ubud where there is always something to do. Also I met so many nice other volunteers, we often did trips together which I really enjoyed. I would definitely do this program again!Marleen, from the Netherlands
My only regret is that I am not able to stay longer. This experience has been amazing in many ways. I was always very excited to come to school.it is such q good feeling to see the kids eager to learn.Even without any previous teaching experience,we can help them to improve their English. It was also an amazing experience for me to learn more about their culture and their traditions. I am glad I decided to come to Bali not only as a tourist but as a volunteer. It is such a great experience and gives a meaning to your travel experience. Finally, the local coordinators have been amazing.one of the best things we did together was to go to the temple for a ceremony.Emilie, from France
I had a very good time volunteering at VP Bali. It was my first volunteer experience and I learned so much about the culture, I learned a lot from my students and I would highly recommend it to everyone who is thinking about joining a volunteer program. VP Bali helped me a lot to get better everyday. I had the pleasure to meet so wonderful people who I will always remember. I had the chance to get in contact with the local people which was a one of a kind experience. I would do the volunteer program at VP Bali again.Sahar, from Germany
Teaching English with VP Bali has been a rewarding experience which has helped me build confidence in myself to consider a career in education. There is a great balance between school time and free time to travel. During my stay in Bali I always felt safe and the staff were always around if I needed anything. I have made great friends during my stay which I will keep in contact with when we are all back home.Yves, from Switzerland
The kids at school were eager to learn and mostly very respectful and welcoming of all the new teachers. A special aspect of VP Bali is the family you become apart of: staff, volunteers, local coordinators, and students. Sharing family, school, and village ceremonies is a unique aspect of the program I particularly liked. The 4 day work week allows enough time to explore different parts of Bali on the weekend with the other volunteers. I highly recommend this organization!Jemima, from the UK
I can’t believe it is already my last day, time past by so quickly. I will miss all my kids and I hope to get to see them again one day. It was perfect that we always had a long weekend, in order to have more time to explore Bali on the weekends. This is my 3rd time volunteering in my Gap Year and in my opinion VP Bali was by far the best organised one. We always had enough resources for our classes, we had weekly meetings and there was always someone in school to help us.Daniela, from Switzerland
This is my second time volunteering with VP Bali. This time I had some of the same students that I had last year. It was really great to see them again and see how much they have improved as we could have the full conversations in English! And the program itself too, the classes are more structured and there is a local support for the teachers. I think the kids love the classes, because it is so different from their school classes. It is lot more fun! Anybody who comes here will love it. You can’t not enter the classroom and think that you don’t want to be here.Zoe, from Australia
I have been here for 7 week and this experience was amazing. It was way better than I expected. The kids are really eager to learn and everyone is just so nice. When choosing a program I knew I wanted to teach English, because I felt like that’s something I can personally help with.I chose VP BALI as it came across as the most volunteer oriented program, felt like they really care about volunteers as well as the kids. When I first arrived the kids were open to work with me but a bit shy, but by the next two days they were like Gemma, Gemma and just adorable.Gemma, from the UK
The program was amazing, the kids are really cool to work with, so I am sad I am leaving. This is the first time I am doing volunteering but I would like to do it again after this. The most memorable experience is when you are teaching them words and the next time they remember it, that’s the best part of it. For those coming to volunteer I would recommend not to worry too much. Be enthusiastic and the kids will like it. Make it fun, they love it. Its very easy to have them like you.Sofie, from Belgium
I was travelling for a long time and instead of travelling I wanted to have a brake for a while. And a friend of mine recommended this programs as a very nice one, so I decided to stop here for 3 weeks. This experience was very nice. I met a lot of new friends I have a lot of great experiences. At the beginning, I didn’t know what to do, I din‘t know the culture, but the kids were just so nice, eager to learn and very welcoming. To those thinking to come, you should do it it‘s a lot of fun. Just go with the flow and everything will be all right.Florian, from Belgium
I volunteered before in India and I felt like its a great way how to interact with people. You really get to know the country and its people. I was looking at several programs but I picked this one cause it looked like you really had some plan and goal and it all felt organized. Even now when I am here I can feel everything is structured, I feel like I am helping to the kids. The kids are very energetic and happy to learn new things and its really nice to see that. I recommend to everyone just do it. It might be a bit difficult at the beginning before you get the hang out of it but in the end its just all so good, for the kids and for you.Isabelle, from Sweden
I really wanted to come to Bali, get to know the culture and I thought volunteering is a great way how to immerse yourself in the culture. I wanted to be part of the project that is community based and I did quite a lot of research before coming. I liked the things VP Bali focuses on, so I chose this programs. There are so many unforgettable moments I will never forget. The lovely kids from the school and the local staff they all taught me so much. It is very inspiring to see the kids be excited about learning and see how they finally grasp the things we teach them everyday.Rachel, from the UK
I love to travel and I don´t like to just stop in the place for two weeks and then go. I like to immerse myself in the culture and I think the best way to do it is to volunteer, be with the community and interact with them. Teaching has always been something I wanted to try and I think this is the opportunity I was looking for.I have never done this kind of volunteering before but I really do like it cause I feel it makes difference. Giving the kids the opportunity to interact with people to learn English is very valuable for them and hopefully I’ll impact them somehow. This program is great also because it is designed in the way that you still have time to explore Bali and go around while being able to volunteer. So it gives you the best of both worlds.Sharon, from Canada
I came to volunteer cause I always wanted to see what is it like to teach . Coming here and seeing the kids everyday just makes me happy, I wish I could extend it.It´s been an amazing experience in an amazing country. The kids are beautiful and I am learning so much from them. I wil definitely recomend this programs to my friends, its an amazing ecperience. I am going back home with so much. I feel like I am being a better person.Trishya, from India
I had someone who did similar thing before and it sounded really good. So I took a look and everything about the project sounded really good. Before coming here I didn´t know what to exactly expect. My best experience would be playing all the games after doing the exercises. It was really nice having different kind of classes, one with younger kids that didn´t understand a lot and older ones, very clever and easy to get along with. Just come and do it, you will have no regrets! And learn a lot of cool games!Ryan, from the UK
I enjoyed every single day of my 2 months in Bali whether I was teaching or travelling with the other volunteers. Teaching the kids and seeing how they learn was the best experience I had. I loved to see their energy and motivation and their will to learn, it was so much fun everyday. I can just tell everyone who is considering to come here to teach with VP Bali, that it was the most amazing experience I had in my life and I won’t hesitate to come back in the future.Carolina, from Germany
I decided to volunteer with VP Bali to do something different, have some fun but also give back to the community. My best experience was seeing the kids being more confident with their English and watching them improving their skills. I had a kid who was very shy but now she is talking all the time and that is really great. My tips for future volunteers is just to enjoy the time you got here, the kids are really fun and you just learn along the way what you want to do with them.Melanie, from Australia
I came to volunteer because I wanted to experience something new. I saw I could bring some value to those who are in need. My first experience was amazing, overall the experience was heart warming seing the eyes and smile of the kids. I can‘t really describe it with words. I recommend to everyone to try because it‘s life changing.Lucie, from Czech Republic
I am doing a gap year but I wanted to do something different rather than going on holiday for few months. Before coming I had no expectations, I didn´t know what to expect. My most memorable moment would be any moment in class, seeing the improvement of the kids with the things they struggled with at first and later they got so excited about. To future volunteers I recommend don´t be nervous just enjoy it. If you are excited about what you are teaching they will be excited to learn.Jess, from USA
I just came to get involved. I didn’t expect to have such a rewarding experience. Children are amazing they are so motivated and passionate. For the next volunteers I recommend, just trust your instincts, you have a lot more to offer to the students than what you think. In my first class I was like what am I going to do, I don’t have any experience. So just let them express themselves and provide opportunities for them to speak, make mistakes, be wrong and learn from that.Jack, from Australia
I’ve been teaching kids in Holand, but that’s very different because of the language and culture.I really had to remember the differences like not to point with your left hand but the right one and things like that. I’ll never forget how my relationship with kids has developed. When I started, the kids were a bit hesitant but after two weeks they became so attached. They didn’t want me to leave, gave me presents and cuddled me a lot. Those moments were really rewarding.Roxanne, from the Netherlands
I have a passion for teaching and I love kids. I went to Bali two years ago and I really wanted to go back. I love the kids, the whole experience and teaching. It is hard to describe but everything makes sense when you are with the kids, they are just amazing. I will miss my kids the most.Linnea, from Sweden
Because I am a high school teacher in Australia, I wanted to experience teaching abroad. I wanted to volunteer and in a way give back to the community. I will miss everything about the children, their smiles, their enthusiasm and their welcoming nature.Suzi, from Australia
The reason for me to join VP Bali was because I already worked before with a charity organization and I had now some times on my hands to volunteer again. My best memory of volunteering is the older students that loved singing in class and did this regularly. They love to sing!Cara, from New Zealand
When I found VP Bali on the internet, I became interested right away because it sounded like a great place for me because of the children and of course Bali. It seemed like a great opportunity that is why I wanted to come. After all this time I sure have got to know these kids better. And I love them all, both my little ones and big ones. I really enjoyed getting to know them better and that is why I am so proud that I have been here for such a long time. I love everything about Bali.Kerttu, from Finland
I am so happy that we decided to come here because the kids are amazing and I am going to miss them all so much.Essi, from Finland
The reason for me to join the program is because it is an opportunity. Firstly, to help the children, that is really nice and by doing that you do a lot of good work. And secondly, it is a very good way to improve my own English skills. I learned a lot the last three weeks. It was a lot of fun and the children are so sweet. I will miss the kids the most. They really stole my heart because they are so cute and they are really enthusiastic about learning something new.Hanne, from Belgium
My main reason for joining VPBali was that I wanted new challenges in a completely different environment than what I’m used to. VPBali made it possible to do this while helping others and combining it with sightseeing in of the most beautiful places on earth. My best memories from school even though it was sad was their good bye “ceremony” the day before I left. Really touching what they had prepared.John, from Norway
Today was a really good day. It was my last day teaching at VP Bali. What I thought was amazing, was just turning up and seeing the kids that are being so adorable, hugging me and calling my name the whole time. In fact, everyday that we go in and they all walk past you and go ‘’hello Holly’’. That is what I would miss the most.Holly, from UK
My best memories about volunteering are of course meeting the kids and see how eager they are to learn and how much fun they have in learning English. But also meeting the other volunteers, it is like a small family away from home and you get to meet so many people, so much different people and they all become your friends.Lisa, from the Netherlands
I just finished high school in France and I decided to take a gap year to think about my future. I immediately decided to volunteer because it was a good way to help people and give my time to the others, and at the same time, get the experiences that could enrich me. At the end, it was the best decision I ever made! My best memory was to see the happiness in children’s faces when we were teaching and to see that the kids were so eager to learn.Anouchka, from France
It was a really nice experience. Everyday was like a challenge because of the language barriers. In the beginning it was really hard to break them, but it was so nice when they look at you when they understand it and smile. The students are also very eager to learn. You really have the feeling that they want to learn something.Vanessa, from Germany
For me, it was the best experience in my life. The kids here really want to learn something, and they are really happy when they get the thing you wanted to teach them, that’s the best thing. Yesterday we’ve been to a Balinese ceremony and it was the kids that taught us, it was really great. We spent 4 weeks here, and it’s definitely not enough. We’ll miss it a lot.Nicole, from Germany
I was really lucky with my class. They all loved me I think. In the last week seven new students joined my class, so that probably means that I did something right. I am really proud of myself by bringing new students in to the program.Ada, from Spain
At VP Bali I could volunteer and experience Bali at the same time. So this was a great combination. I really liked the group of volunteers. We became really good friends and even a little family because we did everything together. We traveled and taught together and shared the same experience. The children are amazing. Their enthusiasm is great. They get attached to you really quickly. They are eager to learn and like the competition of who has the answer right.Lize, from Belgium
I have always wanted to join a volunteering program for a long time but I never got the chance to do it. So finally at one point I started to research and I decided to join vp bali. The reason for me to teach in Bali is to give myself a good experience in life and to do something useful for myself. Bali is a beautiful and my students are lovely and smart. It felt like I am helping my students for their future. I do not want to leave Bali.
Clark, from Thailand
I think the best memory that I have from volunteering for VP Bali is playing with the children and especially at the rice fields. It was really fun to see the children playing outside in the rice fields. The children in the program are really motivated and eager to learn. If you as a volunteer show them something new, they are curious and want to know what it is.Sanne, from the Netherlands
I always wanted to participate in a project abroad with children. The best thing for me was to try to create a great relationship with the children. I personally think that the four weeks were not long enough. I preferred to stay longer.Once I only had two children in my class, these two children were really intelligent and eager to learn. We had during this class, good conversations and in this way they were able to improve their oral skills. I think that the students appreciate these moments.
Charlene, from France
I really enjoyed being in Bali. Volunteering here in Ubud, has really make me feel part of the community. Today is my last day, I wish I could stay longer.Danielle, from Scotland

I decided to volunteer with VPBALI because i thought it would be an incredible opportunity, and I wasn’t wrong. I arrived here in the first day and I couldn’t get over how amazing kids were. They just all ran up to you, screaming and just wanted you know you name. They’re the most incredible kids I’ve ever come across. It’s such and incredible opportunity, I really urge anyone to do it.Rebecca, from Ireland
I love teaching. These kids have changed my life.Ana, from Spain
It was the perfect program because, you do volunteer from Monday to Thursday, but then you also have the weekend off to explore Bali. It’s a really good balance. Plus, living here in the Valley is really good, cause you get to see the Balinese life, and how’s the locals live.Cyrila, from Switzerland
My experience has been amazing, we stayed with the cutest family and really get to experience the local food and culture. I love the children, they’re really eager to learn, and really appreciate and respect you as a teacher. It’s just perfect.Manouk, from the Netherlands
My experience here has been amazing, especially because we had the chance to stay in Ubud for a week end, so we saw the real Bali experience, we also travelled around. But as well the kids were amazing, it’s great to be in school and it’s also great to be in the community. I recommend highly.Carolina, from Poland
