Last week, VP Bali had a doctor in the house! Dr Anjalee came by from Malaysia to give a short health workshop for the children at Program Ubud.

The health workshop was held on Tuesday and Wednesday (3-4 August 2015) at the school of Program Ubud. Dr Anjalee spent the two days teaching the children basic health measures. On the first day, she taught the children how to treat minor wounds, such as bites, scratches, and minor burns. She also explained how to stay clean and healthy by showing the right way to wash hands and giving some nutritional advice. Don’t forget to eat your veggies!

On the second day, things got a bit more practical. Dr Anjalee wanted the children to be able to help someone in a life-threatening situation, like if someone suddenly passed out or were choking. She showed the children how to do CPR (cardio- pulmonary resuscitation) and the Heimlich manoeuvre. The children paid close attention and were enthusiastic to help Dr Anjalee with her demonstrations. Who knows, they could be future doctors!
