Their touching stories
Clerk came to volunteer with VP Bali in 2015. He spend one month teaching English to the students in the program Ubud. A few months later he came to Bali again and suprised his students with a visit at school. We surprised him with a couple of questions.
How was it to come back and see the kids again?
Well I am happy to be back and see the kids because I was really close to them when I was volunteering here in Bali last year. I wanted to see them especially to see how is their progress.
Did you stay in touch with the kids after you left from the program?
No I wasn‘ t. The kids didn‘ t know I am coming today to see them.
Did you notice any improvement of the Engish level of the kids?
Yeah yeah I did. I saw today they were doing some excercise and they were really good putting together those sentences. When I was volunteering couple of months ago they could only put together very simple sentences but now they are doing much better and their grammar is much more correct.
How would you evaluate your experience?
Really good, It was a great fun teaching the kids. We always had fun together in the class. Besides, when I was volunteering I had the feeling I am doing something useful.
In your application for the program you said you wanted to volunteer to change something. Do you now see your impact or a change?
Yes, It changed the way I think because I saw this big difference. The kids here in Bali were diffent to the kids in other countries. They are eager to learn, they wanted to come to school everyday. It just made me think these kids are gonna make the better future for the country, for themselfs and their families.
Would you do volunteering again?
Of course if I will have a chance I would love to. I would come back to VP Bali again.
